2020 Edition

Dear Colleagues,

As part of our innovative and dynamic approach to the Ontario Public Library Guidelines, I am delighted to announce the OPLG Council has approved the 2020 Edition document and supplementary resources at its recent April 2020 meeting.

This new approach confirms and expands our commitment to providing the best, the most current and most useful tools to all public libraries who are seeking to improve their systems as a developmental tool through to those who will be formally seeking Accreditation from the OPLG Council.

The Annual Update replaces the concept of numbered Editions as previously announced.  The annual edition will enable more agile guideline-by-guideline adjustments to be made as needed, and posted annually, as opposed to the Edition system’s multi-year cycle which has been maintained since its inception in 1990.

We invite you to explore the 2020 Edition, and note that it will be in force until the 2021 Edition is posted in the first quarter of the new year.

With our kindest regards,

Elise C. Cole, Chair
